Twirly, Sweet Girly

Annabelle had a week filled with new experiences, tutu's and friends. She attended her first dance class- which was a blast! She loved the music and danced with her sweet girl friends Gwen and Cordelia. I guess this is where I start living vicariously through my daughter.... oh to be young again. Twirling around with no cares in the world. The girls were just adorable! Annabelle also starting riding in her "big girl" car seat. She loves facing forward and particularly looking out the window. It's so crazy to see her in that seat. She looks so big!!

Here are the pics of the week. Enjoy.

This Week in A's World

To say it simply, Annabelle is getting more comfortable in her walking skills. She is demonstrating a lot more independence. She wants to walk... scratch that... run everywhere now. And, it's usually in the opposite direction of where I am standing! Annabelle also likes to climb up stairs, get into cabinets and jump into piles of pillows! She likes to turn on faucets, dump out Tillie's water bowl and generally get into trouble. No worries, its messy but it is all good fun!

On The Farm With Annabee

We took a field trip to Owens Spring Creek Farm this morning. It was a cute place with a petting zoo, museum and plenty of typical farm scenery. Annabelle liked it mostly because I let her wonder pretty much everywhere. She was mildly amused with the animals. (Donkeys and pigs were her favorites.) The play train, model trucks and random kittens found by the turkey pens seemed to be the winners in keeping her attention the longest. HA! Two things of note - she did NOT like the roosters and was afraid of the tractor. I think the roosters were too loud for her liking and so was the tractor. Oh well, hayrides next trip!

Visiting the pigs. A liked it when they snorted!
Trains!

No hayride for A. She was scared of the tractor.

Hello donkey

Goats are funny

The old model trucks were fun. A got to climb up in one of them.

She's A Painter!

I let A paint today... and yes it was messy, yes she ate the paint, yes it was so much fun! I can't wait to do it again!

First thing is first, I made the paint with flour, water and food coloring just in case she decided to taste the medium. Second, I pretty much taped everything to the ground so she couldn't get her fingers under and rip up the "canvas." I also put a trash bag under the paper so everything would be easy to clean up after we were all done. A had a good time but she really did more finger painting than using her brushes. She also dumped all the paint on the ground about 15 minutes into the fun. I don't care- it was fun seeing her play with colors and brushes. I have no problems with her getting dirty! Pics below.

Fort Worth Zoo and MOLA

The Fort Worth Zoo is one of the top 10 zoo's in the nation so we have been really wanting to check it out. After our visit, I have to agree that it is a great zoo. Plenty of shade, great exhibits and the MOLA (Museum of Living Art) make it a must see. Here are some pics of our visit. Annabelle was a fan of the penguins, the Yellow Rose train and the snowcones!

Mr. Rabbit

I love watching A walk around with her rabbit. She's so cute carrying it around the house! And, when she's tired, she just lays down on the rabbit and smiles. ADORABLE!

Water Blob

Yet another Pinterest project has spurred me into action. This week I decided to try the water blob (think water bed/ slip and slide with a twist). It was pretty easy- materials included plastic drop cloth and tape. I added some food coloring to make it a bit more exciting but I think next time I will add glitter or little pom poms to draw the kids attention. We had some of the playgroup over to try it out... they didn't really seem to be amused. Good thing I had the pool out and some snacks to keep them busy. Only Annabelle attempted to try the blob out. She actually had the most fun when I was adding the water into the drop cloth. She and our neighbors thought it was fun to watch the blob fill up.
