Happy Valentines Day!

I love you... and Tillie!

Fun with Elmo and Books

Annabelle's favorite toys... books and Elmo!!

Annabelle's World

A couple firsts in Annabelle's life this month: Swinging in the park, her first movie and she is finally big enough to ride like a big girl in a shopping cart! So exciting. Here are some pics of all these fun milestones! PS- she LOVES LOVES LOVES doing all of these things (even though she isn't smiling in a lot of these pics). Hehe!

Doggies Are My Friend

Annabelle loves dogs! She adores them and laughs at them often. Of course we know that A and Tillie are BFF but when Bella, Mimi's dog, came to stay with us a couple weeks ago A was in heaven! Here are some pics.

Squirming Worm

Trying to change Annabelle's diapers these days requires lots of patience and a sense of humor. While she is not mobile (aka crawling or rolling to California) she can twist and turn with the best of them. Oh, and she loves to hold onto her toes and pull off her socks and pants. Funny girl! The first photo is A in her crib. She has just learned how to take her pants off.... and the second is A on her changing table.

Mum Mums, Solids and Bottles

I am fascinated at how Annabelle is learning all these new skills so quickly. Here she is "snacking" for the first time on Baby Mum Mums, a sweet pic with Dad during her night bottle feeding and Mimi feeding A solids. I couldn't resist! As I mentioned before in the 7 month recap, A is at 4 feedings a day. Liquid-2 bottle and 2 nursing. She is also eating solids 2x a day. Big girl!

Peek A Boo... I See Myself!

A is a big fan of peek-a-boo these days. She likes to play with us, of course, but her favorite partner (without question) is a mirror. Here are a few pics of Annabelle in action.

Sippy Cup Training

Annabelle is rocking the sippy cup! She is using NUBY and has made it to stage two so far. My hope is that she will get to stage three (real cup) by 8 months and that she can replace her afternoon bottle. I think that it will be easier to wean her from the bottle if I start early. Since there haven't been any complaints yet we are going with it!

Here are pics of Annabelle in training.

7 Months!

Wha hooo! Annabelle is 7 months old now and she is AMAZING. Really, it seems like she has a new trick everyday.

She weighs roughly 15 lbs and continues to grow taller by the second (28in). Since we will not have another official DR. check up until she is 9 months the stats this month are estimates.  She did, however have her follow up booster shot this month and she did not shed any tears! This is such a big deal since, in the past, during Dr shot visits she has turned tomato red in the face and burst into uncontrollable tears. Not fun for her or Mommy. I can't stand to see my little one cry...

As far as motoring around, Annabelle still chooses not to participate. (And that is still ok with me!!) She can roll but she doesn't unless it is absolutely necessary and never more than one roll at a time. She is happy to sit and play in one spot. Her favorite is to stand and have us help her walk around the room. Ouchie on my back... but she enjoys it so much, I don't mind! Annabelle has also figured out the bouncer and she is really good at it! If you have never seen a baby bounce up and down with arms and legs flailing about--- you are missing out! It makes me laugh every time.

Some of her favorite toys at the moment are her books....Sesame Street Beginnings and Richard Scary books seem to be the big hits although she will pretty much sit and listen to anything we read to her. This is something I hope she continues to love as I enjoy our reading time. Annabelle also has a new fascination with Elmo. We bought her a cute little plush Elmo with a squeaker and a peek a boo book last weekend. They were a hit! So cute. Other favorite toys include her Mr. Moose and her turtle toy with rattles and shapes.

Now let's talk about the biggest changes in her life...food and drink. Annabelle is well into her solid foods. She has mastered veggies in colors yellow, orange, green and moved onto fruits. She  eats solids two times a day and likes pretty much anything that I put in front of her. No complaints. Yea! Hope it keeps up! By the end of this month we are going to try out meats. FUN! Just a side note for future Annabelle---- You can CLEAR A ROOM when you poop now.... whoo it's STINKY! Just remember that I changed all those diapers!

Ok, now onto her liquid meals. Annabelle is now down to 4 liquid feeding sessions. I had originally thought that I would stop nursing her altogether and wean her over to a bottle by 6 months. Well, things change and for sentimental reasons on my side only (Annabelle would be fine taking a bottle) I have finally weaned her down to two nursing sessions at 6:30am and 10:30am and two bottles at 2:30pm and 6:30pm before bed. My goal is to have her completely weaned by mid 8 months and onto using a sippy cup for at least one feeding in the afternoon. YES- that is another skill she is learning but I will talk about that later.

That is all for now... here are pics. Love!

Bad Mommy!!

Ok, ok, ok... I know its been a little while (scratch that) a LONG while since I have updated the blog. Shame on me! So, I am sorry and I am back with a whole lot of updates. Hang on to your reading glasses! Here we go.
