Unfortunately, the trees on the farm were on the smaller side due to lack of rain so we ended up buying one of their pre cut trees (from Virginia!). I felt bad at the time but it turns out that the chosen tree ended up being one of the best looking ones that we have ever had! Also, we still gave them a lot of business and will be back again next year.

Tree Hunting
We headed out to Van Alstyne to find the perfect Christmas tree this year. The Wintergreen Tree Farm came highly recommended by our neighbors who have been out to the farm for the last 10 + years. I went with high expectations and most were met. The actual farm was quaint and there were plenty of things to do: gift shop, playground, hot chocolate, hayrides and SANTA! Annabelle loved riding on the hayride and running around the trees. She even talked a big game wanting to see "Ho Ho." Turns out she was still scared of the big man and wouldn't even sit on his lap.... I think after seeing him a couple more times this month we will eventually get her to smile but no success on the first round.
Thanksgiving 2013
It was a nice Thanksgiving holiday in Dallas this year. Mimi and Gramps hosted the Nickles and the Magers clans. The kiddos had a great time playing together- Mimi bought a ton of fun toys to keep them busy! The food was wonderful, of course. We had a yummy fried turkey and mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, veggies, cranberry sauce stuffing..... and on and on.
We would have loved to hang with Bryan, Steph, Kinsey and Gray for longer but poor Gray was sick and they had to go back to Houston early. Poor thing had a bad sinus infection and a cough that was horrific. Hopefully he will get better soon.
Here are some pics from Turkey day. Enjoy!

The Normal Day to Day
I haven't been very good about posting this month... I can't believe it is almost Thanksgiving! Time is flying! Anyway, the pics below don't really have any theme. They are just our normal day to day. I still feel like they have a place on this blog since they make me smile. Hope they make you smile too!
A insisted that Tillie have a seat at the dinner table. Tillie didn't turn the invite down.
Popcorn and Charlie Brown.
Bundled up for the cool weather.
The girl loves Nemo. We watch it A LOT!

Park day with Dad
Its fall y'all!
And no typical Dallas fall season would be complete without unpredictable weather that causes yucky sniffles and general sickness. Annabelle has certainly been influenced by the weather this month. She has had a touch of a cold and even had fifths disease last week. She is a trooper though. Most sick days she is in good spirits and will happily cuddle up or lay on the couch and watch Charlie Brown or Nemo with Mom. I love cuddles from my sweet girl but I am glad that she is back to her healthy self.

Happy Halloween, Love Annabee and her keepers
Halloween is so fun when you have the right set of ingredients- the perfect costume, good company and nice weather for trick or treating. We had all of those things last night and it was a blast.
The costumes- CHECK. Mimi made Annabelle's bee costume (you saw a preview in a previous posting). It was awesome! I made the accessories- beekeeper hats and A's treat bag. We made an adorable bee family!
Good company- CHECK. Mimi, me, Stephen and all the neighborhood kiddos were out trick or treating last night. It was sweet. I have to say that we have such a great hood. It was just the right amount of houses for a 2 year old and everyone was cooing over A's cute costume.
Nice weather- CHECK, CHECK! Clear, cool, with a slight breeze. Perfect.
We ended the night with pizza and Charlie Brown. Life is good.
