Austin bound, if only for the weekend

Roadtrip! We were so excited to get out of town and go visit Mimi and Gramps over Easter weekend. I think we wore Annabelle out visiting the park, Austin Children's Museum and the Zilker Zepher! She slept an extra hour on Saturday and Sunday. Here are some pics of Annabelle and the G-units.

Amarillo and The Big Texan

So, we had heard about this place called The Big Texan on the Food Network. It is famous for its "free 72 oz steak," promo. Its not really free though unless you can eat the steak, baked potato, salad, rolls, dessert and drink your drink all in ONE hour. While we didn't take part in the challenge, we did decide to be tourists and take lots of pics with all their restaurant props. It was about as much fun as you can have in Amarillo!

Roadtrip!

Annabelle is officially a road warrior! In her short life, she's driven with us to New Orleans, South Carolina and now to Arizona. I have to say that she is a really good traveler. In the two and a half day road trip to Phoenix, she managed to kill time listening to music (toddler tunes!!), playing with toys and reading lots of books. We (Mimi and Mom) tried to get out of the car every few hours so she could stretch her legs but there were few decent stopping points along Route 66. (In case you were wondering, the route consists of dessert, cattle, windmill farms, tourist traps and ABSOLUTELY NO TREES.)

All joking aside, I am so glad that we got to spend this time together. It is a trip that we will remember and treasure for a lifetime. Or at least look back and laugh at!! Plus it was the unofficial start to Uncle Phil's and Aunt Katie's wedding festivities! More on that to come.
