Artsy Fartsy Thursday

Turns out today was full of arts and crafts. I love it when that happens! If you know me or follow the blog, you know that I try new crafts with Annabelle all the time. She seems to really enjoy them and I do too so it's a win, win. Anyway, we went to the YMCA today and came home with an apple construction paper craft (25% Annabelle participation, 75% Mom). Played with finger paints in the bath this afternoon (100% Annabelle). Then colored a monkey puzzle (I did all the coloring but Annabelle did try to put the pieces together for me!).

This is the face she made just after she dumped all the paint out. Kinda devious huh?!

A's Quiet Book

I finally finished it! After several months time and numerous trips to the crafts store my Quiet Book project for Annabelle is finally complete. Yea! A few pages are from patterns I found on the web but there are some that are all my design. Here are some pics of the finished product.

She's A Painter!

I let A paint today... and yes it was messy, yes she ate the paint, yes it was so much fun! I can't wait to do it again!

First thing is first, I made the paint with flour, water and food coloring just in case she decided to taste the medium. Second, I pretty much taped everything to the ground so she couldn't get her fingers under and rip up the "canvas." I also put a trash bag under the paper so everything would be easy to clean up after we were all done. A had a good time but she really did more finger painting than using her brushes. She also dumped all the paint on the ground about 15 minutes into the fun. I don't care- it was fun seeing her play with colors and brushes. I have no problems with her getting dirty! Pics below.
